Our signature fundraising event of the year, the Benefit Art Auction showcases the creativity of Washington state artists of all disciplines. This Auction accounts for approximately 25% of our annual fundraising which we invest directly in Washington artists through grants, career training and professional resources. Please consider submitting your work for possible inclusion in the Auction. It is a wonderful opportunity to support Artist Trust in helping artists, as well as to make your own work visible to new and seasoned art collectors.

Our aim is to represent the best work created by Washington's amazing artists. This year, we will be including fewer pieces of visual artwork in the Auction. We will, therefore, have a stronger curatorial process and, as in the past, not all submitted artwork will be accepted. Our stellar panel of curators is made up of gallerists and collectors functioning independently of the Artist Trust staff. This year's panel includes: Stefano Catalani of Bellevue Arts Museum, Francine Seders of Francine Seders Gallery, Edie Adams of Microsoft, and Lorraine Vagner of Facere Jewelry Art Gallery.

  • 1-3 images
  • JPEG (.jpg) format
  • Maximum 900 pixels x 900 pixels
  • 300 dpi
  • Preferred fair market value: $500 - $5,000
  • Preferred artwork dimensions: 4ft x 4ft x 4ft MAXIMUM
  • Framing is not required for submission, but will be required if accepted
  • Only available artworks may be submitted

  • November 4, 2013 at 11:59 PM: online submissions deadline
  • November 28, 2013: artist notifications
  • January 10-11, 2014: artwork drop-off at Artist Trust office (arrangements can be made for artists outside of the Seattle area)

    Benefits for Donating Artists

    We want this Auction to benefit your career directly. We will offer a workshop this fall to help maximize participation in the Auction as a marketing opportunity.

    Additionally, in recognition of your gift to the Artist Trust Auction, you will receive a one-year Artist Trust membership.

    We also invite you to enjoy this fabulous event! You may choose one of the following options:

    1. Donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of your artwork and receive one free ticket for yourself to the Auction, plus the option to purchase a second ticket at-cost for $100.
    2. Receive a 10% commission and have the option of purchasing a ticket for yourself below-cost for $50 and one guest at-cost for $100.

    Please note that the above options will not apply to "Buy-it-Now" jewelry donors. "Buy-it-Now" participants will receive $75 for sold work and a one-year Artist Trust membership.
